Early childhood teachers
Sherry Jennings (1972 to present) – Parent & Child Teacher
Sherry grew up in Greenville, Pennsylvania and graduated from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania. She worked in Community Health before teaching at Pine Hill during its first years. After attending the teacher training course at Emerson College in England, she returned to Pine Hill to teach kindergarten and develop the nursery and Children’s Garden programs. In the last five years, Sherry has been offering courses on Compassionate Communication to parents, staff and community members, and currently serves as a mediator for parent or faculty concerns. Sherry’s three children attended Pine Hill and High Mowing School.
Tracee Highfield (2014 to present) – Kindergarten Teacher
Tracee completed her teacher training in Eugene, Oregon. She assisted in the Early Childhood program at the Eugene Waldorf School for two years before becoming the Lead Preschool Teacher at the Corvallis Waldorf School in Oregon, where she taught for three years. Since the birth of her youngest child, Tracee ran an in-home preschool. She has three children, one who will attend High Mowing, one will attend Pine Hill and one who will attend Pine Hill in the near future. Tracee enjoys spending time with her family, running, doing yoga, reading, camping and planting flowers.
Amy Kleine (2004 to present) – Kindergarten Teacher, Early Childhood Chair
Amy grew up in Massachusetts and received a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. She is a graduate of the Waldorf Teacher Training Program at Antioch University New England. Prior to becoming the lead Sunflower Kindergarten teacher in 2006, she worked for several years in the nursery and kindergartens at Pine Hill as an assistant. Amy has three children, two of whom attend Pine Hill and one of whom is a Pine Hill graduate. Amy enjoys sharing her love of the outdoors, movement, story, song and crafts with the children!
